The journey of this Institute began in 1975, just after nationalization of banks, as Personnel Selection Services (PSS), a unit of National Institute of Bank Management (NIBM). In 1984 this unit became an independent entity – Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) at the behest of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and Public Sector Banks. The objective was to develop an unbiased and efficient system for recruitment, promotion and placement services. Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has issued a notification for recruitment of RRBs Group-“A”-Officers (Scale-I, II & III) and RRBs CWE-II. The online Examination date for the post of Officers have been tentatively fixed on 21st September 2013 and 22nd September 2013 and the dates for the post of Office Assistant (Multipurpose) have been tentatively fixed on 28th September 2013 and 29th September 2013.
