The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all India examination that primarily tests a comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in Engineering and Technology. The GATE score of a candidate reflects a relative performance level in a particular paper in the exam across several years. GATE is conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and seven IITs (IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee) on behalf of the National Coordination Board – GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. The score is used for admissions to post-graduate engineering programmes like M.E., M.Tech, direct Ph.D. in Indian higher education institutes with financial assistance provided by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). The score may also be used by Public sector units for employment screening purposes. Interested Candidates can apply online from 1st September 2013 to 30th September 2013 and GATE Online exam will be conduct 20th January 2014 and GATE Offline exam will be concocted 10th February 2014. GATE Exam results will be announced on 15th March 2014.
